Inspection of the Castrated Testicle

Both the testicle and epididymis have the ability to produce testosterone (hormones) and spermatozoa (reproductive cells). Successful castration mandates the complete removal of both of these structures.

Recovery of the following structures are visually confirmed at the time of castration:

  • The entire Testicle

  • The HEAD of the Epididymis

  • The BODY of the Epididymis

  • The TAIL of the Epididymis

  • The Vas Deferens (which confirms that everything below it has been removed).
