Frequency of Application
Rate of Application
-
For depleted pastures: Apply TP at a rate of 1 gallon per 10 acres. This is the pasture "loading" dose.
-
For normal pastures: Apply TP at a rate of 1 gallon per 20 acres. This is the pasture "maintenance" dose.
Timing of Application
-
Best applied just prior to forecasted rain (0.5" inches or more).
-
Avoid application on windy days.
-
TP has a 6-month shelf-life; multiple applications from a single container should be performed within 6 months of each other.
-
If you're going to fertilize your pasture(s) in the same year, do so prior to or in conjunction with TP application. Do not fertilize after you have applied TP (within the same season). The microbes do not like sudden changes in soil environment.
Soil Temperature
Pasture Preparation (prior to TP application)
-
Make sure that your soil pH is ≥6.0 prior to TP application.
-
If possible, aerate your pasture just prior to TP application; this will hasten soil absorption of the microbes.
-
Make sure that your grass is no higher than 4 inches tall at the time of application; tall grass will impede soil contact and absorption of TP.
-
Don't hesitate to send us a current soil analysis report for a free consultation.
Spray Tank Preparation
-
Make sure that your tank is clean and thoroughly rinsed prior to adding TP.
-
If using a public water source, add a de-chlorinator to the water prior to adding TP.
-
Mixing TP with fertilizers and soil amendments is permitted.
-
Do NOT mix TP with any fungicides; this will deleteriously affect microbe health and vigor.
-
Mix all other ingredients other than TP in the tank first (including the TP activator); mix these ingredients thoroughly to create a homogenous solution.
-
Mix in the TP LAST.
-
Mix TP into the tank no more than 6 hours prior to application.
Expectations
-
The microbes will begin working immediately.
-
The greatest visible difference in your pasture will manifest during the SECOND year of treatment.
-
Although the microbes dramatically enhance the efficiency of nutrient absorption by the plant, the microbes themselves provide very little nutrition to the soil. Continued/ regular fertilization and/or soil amending is essential to maintain a healthy pasture.
